Everything You Need to Know About the Process, and How to Decide if it’s Appropriate For You.

by Lacey Sethness

With the completion of last week’s online Detox Summit, many of you who listened may now be asking the question, “Do I need to Detox?”  In today’s increasingly toxic environment – both physical and mental – the answer is most likely a resounding “YES!”  However, in order to determine if your body is a virtual haven for toxin buildup or if it simply needs a little spring cleaning, it is first necessary to fully understand what it means to detoxify the body, as well as the signs and symptoms that almost always accompany a body under toxic stress.

In the following weeks our new series will focus on this concept of Detoxification (or “Detoxing,” to which it is commonly referred):  Its origin; the organs involved and mechanisms by which they operate; benefits claimed by the process; and of course, the many ways in which one may be performed (and I DO mean many!).

What Does it Mean to Detoxify?

DETOXING, detoxifying, or detoxification, is the body’s natural, ongoing process of neutralizing or eliminating toxins from the body in order to heal and repair itself. Our bodies naturally detoxify every day as part of its normal internal process, and it is one of the most basic autonomic functions, just like the beating of your heart or constriction of your pupils when exposed to light.

When these detox pathways are functioning properly, the body runs like a well-oiled machine and is extremely resistant to everyday toxins which constantly threaten to make us sick.  However, the toxic load of the world today is far greater than that of our ancestors, and though our bodies have done an amazing job of evolving to meet these burdens, toxins have increased at such a rate that even the healthiest of individuals is not without some level of toxicity.

When we engage in a detoxification program, we are simply assisting the body in processes that already exist so that it may perform them more efficiently, thereby getting closer to functioning like the well-oiled machine it is meant to be.

This series serves to educate and empower you with the process of detoxification so that you are able to identify toxic stresses in your own body as well as others, then subsequently decrease and eliminate them. Additionally, Robust Life Center offers a 21 Day Purification Program that rids the body of built-up toxins and creates lasting, healthy habits. This program can be done individually or as part of a group, and includes all necessary supplementation as well as weekly support in the form of emails and group meetings so that success is a realistic, attainable goal.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
